FanDuel High Value Daily Fantasy Picks – May 29, 2014

Todd Frazier

Todd Frazier | 3B | Cincinnati Reds at Arizona Diamondbacks | $3,300

The Cincinnati Reds have surprisingly scored the second least amount of runs this season through the first eight weeks of the year. Considering their high offensive potential, the fact that they have only scored 174 runs on the season is dumbfounding to say the least. Yet despite their inability to score runs, third baseman Todd Frazier has put together an excellent start to the season.

Through the first 49 games of the season, Frazier is batting a respectable .264 from the plate with nine homeruns, 25 runs and 27 RBIs. He has reached safely in eight of the past ten games including three multi-hit games. To make matters even better, Frazier faces Josh Collmenter and the Diamondbacks tonight. Collmenter has struggled to limit runs this season, posting a 3.91 ERA through his first 12 starts this season. At only $3,300, Frazier has the potential for a huge game against at a bargain of a price.

Mike Trout | OF | Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners | $4,700

Despite being the third highest priced outfielder for today’s games, it’s hard to argue against Mike Trout tonight as he faces Brandon Maurer and the Seattle Mariners. Trout has been on fire at the plate the last two weeks, hitting safely in nine of his previous ten games with seven runs, eight RBIs and two homeruns over the same stretch.

As if picking one of the best pure hitters in baseball today wasn’t enough, Trout faces an extremely favorable matchup tonight in Brandon Maurer. The 24-year-old right-hander for the Mariners is posting an atrocious 6.99 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in his first six starts this season. With only two major league pitches at his disposal, his ability to strikeout hitters is greatly limited, providing Trout with an ideal opportunity to have a huge night.

Oswaldo Arcia | OF | Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers | $3,100

Having played just six games in his 2014 season, Oswaldo Arcia does not seem like the most likely candidate to make our list of high value daily fantasy draft picks. Yet after a tough two first games, Arcia has quickly found his stride, hitting safely in the last five games with one homerun, two RBIs and four runs. The young outfielder faces Nicolas Martinez of the Texas Rangers tonight, a rookie right-hander making just his tenth start of the year. If you’re looking for extreme value with high potential returns today, look no further than Arcia.
