FanDuel High Value Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks – April 26, 2014

Troy Tulowitzki SS Colorado Rockies

With the weekend finally here, it’s time to take a moment to examine some of the more favorable daily fantasy baseball matchups for today’s slate of games on FanDuel.

With six afternoon games and nine evening games scheduled, eager fantasy players have a plethora of options available for their lineups today.

To help you with your picks, we’ve selected three players who are destined for big games.

Cliff Lee | SP | Philadelphia Phillies at Arizona Diamondbacks | $10,100

It’s not often that you’ll find us recommending a pitcher with a five-digit price tag but a glance at the available options for today’s games forces us to do exactly that.

With only a few top pitchers scheduled to take the mound on Saturday, combined with an array of difficult matchups for mid-level starters, Cliff Lee is simply the best pitching option available.

In his last two starts, Lee has allowed just one earned run over 17 innings while striking out 23 opposing batters.

His numbers on the year are equally impressive, posting a 3.09 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while striking out 38 and allowing just two walks.

Lee faces off against the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team that ranks in the bottom half of the league in runs scored.

Paying a premium for a quality starter is not always a winning strategy when it comes to daily fantasy baseball, but Lee should be in for a big night as he looks to continue his hot start to the season.

Jose Abreu | 1B | Chicago White Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays | $4,000

The 27-year-old Cuban rookie came into the season with sky-high expectations for the South Siders and has done little to disappoint through the first few weeks of the season.

Abreu has hit an incredible seven homeruns, 21 RBIs and scored 16 runs in his first major league season and has racked up nine hits in his last six games.

Although his average is slightly lower than expected, his power and ability to score runs make him a phenomenal daily baseball option on any given day.

Abreu faces the struggling Cesar Ramos and the Tampa Bay Rays today in a very appealing matchup for those looking for value at first base.

Ramos will be making his second start of the season after moving from the bullpen.

Although he posted respectable numbers in his first start against the Yankees, Ramos has been inconsistent at best thus far, allowing six earned runs and five walks through eleven innings.

Expect Abreu to take advantage of his inconsistency and put up big numbers at the plate.

Troy Tulowitzki | SS | Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers | $5,100

Tulowitzki may be as close to a sure thing as you can find from a hitter today as he faces Paul Maholm and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tulo has been on-fire to start the season, batting an incredible .388 with four home runs, 16 RBIs, and 19 runs.

He has reached based multiple times on four different occasions in the last week including three three-hit games with three home runs.

Quite simply, he is a nightmare for opposing pitchers right now.

This doesn’t bode well for Maholm who has had difficulty finding consistency so far this year.

The 31-year-old has walked more batters than he has struck out in his first few starts of the season while allowing over five runs per nine innings.

Don’t let the $5,100 price tag on Tulo scare you away, he will be worth every penny tonight in Los Angeles.
